Meet Lori…

I have lived in Woodbury…

I have lived in Woodbury for the past 35 years and my husband and I enjoy E-biking and other Fun Activities in our Community. In the past my children attended Royal Oaks School, and I had many opportunities to volunteer and be involved with their education.

I enjoyed facilitating…

I enjoyed facilitating a Junior Great Books Class, along with classroom assistance when needed. My children are now Adults with their own Children, and my Passion Continues for every child to have the Opportunity for Optimum Education toward success in their future.

My Goals in Becoming a School Board Member are:

Providing Awareness for District School Policies

Provide parents the awareness of the District School Policies, such as allowing biological males in female sports and locker rooms. The School Board can change or make school policies.

Collaboration of Teachers and Parents Working Together

For the Support of Teachers and Parents...To make parents aware of the importance of communicating with the teachers to ensure their child's progress. The importance for the Teachers to have a Disciplinary Action Plan in place to restore an environment that is conducive for learning. Also, to share the Opportunity for Parents of Membership in Groups with other Parents in their District. (District 833 Parent’s United and Minnesota Parent Alliance).

RESTORE BASIC CORE EDUCATION

To raise the bar for academic excellence in math, science, reading, critical thinking, history, music/arts. Due to external agendas being taught, this can create confusion and deterrence from a child's optimum learning potential.

Teachers Providing Transparency of Curriculum

The importance of Teachers to provide Transparency of all Curriculum and Reading Materials for Parents at the Beginning and During the school year. The parents need to be made aware of their Rights to Opt their child Out of a class they disapprove of, and the deadlines in doing so.
